Marco Muia - Managing Director

 

Marco has a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Environmental Resources and is a Corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management. He has worked at Cheshire County Council and managed the waste regulation function of Glyndwr District Council prior to joining The Environment Agency as a Waste Licensing Team Leader in April 1996. He left the Agency to form Oaktree Environmental and hasn't looked back since. Marco is a WAMITAB accredited assessor for the COTCs in waste transfer and treatment and provides expert witness assistance in planning and permitting appeals and in court cases. He also holds the level 4 COTCs for Hazardous Waste Treatment and Transfer.

Jane Muia - Director

 

Jane has a BSc (Hons) is Pharmacology and 20+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  She is also a Director of  Oaktree Environmental Ltd and also operates Oaktree Communications Ltd as a freelance medical writer, trainer and clinical research associate.

Robin Draper - Senior Consultant

 

Robin joined Oaktree in 2007, after working as an independent consultant for 10 years. Prior to that he worked in waste regulation for the Environment Agency and Shropshire County Council. He is qualified to BSc. level in Agricultural Sciences, is a Corporate member of the CIWM and a WAMITAB accredited assessor. Robin has a wealth of knowledge which he uses to keep us and our clients informed each month through his useful 'Legislation Update' newsletters. Please ask about the 'Oaktree Update' service.

Richard Sims -Director 

Richard joined us in January 2005 after graduating in Environmental Science at Aberystwyth University and is qualified to MSc level. He manages our survey and CAD team, which produces high quality plans for your site as well as preparing planning and permit applications for all operations.  We are pleased to announce that Richard was appointed to the role of Director in February 2012.

Jan Edwards - Senior Consultant

 

Jan joined us in 2008 and is qualified with a B.Ed. She originally trained as a teacher but then went on to work in Environmental Health for Wrexham Council and Chester City Council. After this she held positions with various local water companies and worked as a waste licensing Team Leader for the Environment Agency for 7 years. She is also a member of the CIWM, and continues to work closely with waste and water companies in her present role at Oaktree.

Dr. David Young - Senior Consultant

 

David  joined us in April 2009. He is our resident air quality specialist and advises clients on air emissions modelling and legislation. He is qualified to PhD level in Environmental Energy Engineering, Pollution Control and Urban Air Quality. He has previously worked for Kings' College London, carrying out PPC inspections for numerous local authorities, and contributed to the daily running of the London Air Quality Network. Most recently, David has worked for private sector consultancies.

John Williams - Principal Planner

 

 John joined us in January 2011 after many years as a Minerals and Waste Planning Team Leader at Anglesey Council.  He provides key assistance to the team, overseeing planning applications and appeals and is based in our Conway office.

Chris Parry - Senior Consultant   



 

Chris joined us in April 2011 after working as a surveyor for Cheshire County Council. He specialises in site surveys, CAD and planning and permitting for end of life vehicles and waste transfer stations.  

Joanne Perry - Technical Administrator / Accounts

Jo joined us in August 2003, and after the directors, is the longest-serving member of Oaktree. She provides technical administrative support services to the rest of the team, and is our credit controller and accounts person. Jo is likely to be the first person who will greet you at Oaktree and will help to deal with all other areas of our business.
